Dennis D'Amico creates breathtaking architectural ornaments, inlays and
murals from marble, granite and a wide variety of other earthen materials. "People like to braille my work", says Dennis. "There's always an irresistible urge
to run one's fingers over all the surfaces, tracing the outlines of the many pieces that form the finished work. The ancients
considered polished stone to have healing powers. Maybe it's true."

The Creative Process Starting with an overall visual direction in mind, Dennis begins by deconstructing
his drawing into puzzle-like elements that will eventually fit together to form the final work. There's no computer-aided
design, drawing or laser cutting involved as Dennis' work is entirely hand-crafted. Each element of the drawing is transferred
onto the piece of marble or stone which has been painstakingly selected for color, texture, grain and its overall ability
to fulfill its role in the final artwork. Next, the individual pieces of stone are hand cut using a micro-fine diamond blade
saw and then hand polished before being assembled for installation.

Regardless the subject or the place that the work ultimately resides,
you can be sure that its impact will be impressive, inspiring, unique, and always striking.
